FIGALO FOUNDATION 979
Building Legacy Through Youth Empowerment and Community Stewardship
THE FIGALO FOUNDATION 979 — FOUNDER’S FULL BIOTruth • Transparency • Trust • Accountability • LoveA Witness‑List Biography for the Next 100 GenerationsI was born on July 30, 1963, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on the sacred soil of Black Wall Street. My mother, Malinda Marie Washington, was only sixteen years old—still a child herself—yet she brought me into a world already shaped by fire, survival, and the unfinished business of American history. My life began with three certified birth records, each one a reminder of how identity, documentation, and truth have always been contested terrain for families like mine.My biological father, Michael Julius Henderson, served this nation in both the Vietnam War and the Korean War. I have yet to obtain his DD‑214s, but the truth of his service is written in the memories of those who knew him and in the cost he paid. I met him at thirteen, and the connection was instant—spiritual, cosmic, undeniable. Before he passed—too young, from the long-term effects associated with Agent Orange exposure—I made him a promise: I would carry the Henderson name with honor, purpose, and generational intent. That promise lives inside this foundation.I was later adopted by Bernell Eugene Lofton, a two‑time Army veteran who raised me as his own. His children—my siblings—have been denied the military benefits tied to his honorable service. I honor him as my father, too. Two fathers. Two legacies. One mission.I grew up in the era now known as the school‑to‑prison pipeline, carrying the Lofton name in classrooms, hallways, and hardships. But the Henderson name—the name of my bloodline—never left my spirit. Today I carry it openly, proudly, and with full generational clarity. My story is not one of confusion—it is one of restoration. Not one of contradiction—it is one of completion. Not one of survival alone—it is one of assignment.THE FOUNDATION OF MY FOUNDATIONTHE FIGALO FOUNDATION 979 was not created as a brand, a nonprofit, or a project. It was created as a generational correction.A response to:families whose service was never honoredchildren whose identities were never protectedcommunities whose brilliance was never invested inyouth whose futures were never safeguardedneighborhoods whose stability was never prioritizedThis foundation is where Truth, Transparency, Trust, Accountability, and Love become architecture—not slogans. Where lived experience becomes curriculum. Where generational trauma becomes generational literacy. Where the next 100 generations receive what the last 100 were denied.THE WITNESS LIST — WHAT SHAPED MEI come from:Black Wall Street lineage, where prosperity was built, destroyed, and rebuilt in spirita teenage mother who carried courage beyond her yearstwo Army veterans, one biological, one adoptive, both honorablea nation that benefited from their service but did not honor their descendantsa childhood shaped by systemic barriers, yet fueled by divine assignmenta promise made to a father I barely knew but deeply loveda name—Henderson—that I vowed to restore with dignityThese are not wounds. These are witnesses. These are the pillars beneath the pillars.THE GOVERNANCE THREAD — WEJA, PRWG, AND THE EO ERAMy foundation aligns with the spirit of Washington State’s WEJA (Washington Equity & Justice) and PRWG (Poverty Reduction Work Group) frameworks—public commitments to equity, stability, and community wellbeing. The foundation also recognizes the historical arc of executive orders across multiple administrations, including those from the 1970s forward, which shaped civil rights enforcement, community development, and public accountability. Not political endorsements—historical context. Not opinions—institutional alignment.THE FIGALO FOUNDATION 979 stands in that lineage of public responsibility, but with a mission that reaches far beyond policy cycles: 100 generations and Beyonder.THE MISSION — WHY THIS FOUNDATION EXISTSThis foundation exists because:identity must be protectedlineage must be honoredyouth must be equippedfamilies must be stabilizedcommunities must be stewardedtruth must be taughthistory must be correctedlegacy must be built intentionallyOur campuses, legacy homes, duplex estates, and restorative housing prototypes are not real estate—they are generational stability hubs. Our curriculum is not education—it is inheritance. Our governance is not paperwork—it is restoration. Our volunteers are not helpers—they are stewards.THE CALL — WHY THE FOUNDING 40 MATTERThe Founding 40 are not recruits. They are architects. They are the first generation of stewards who will help build:the curriculumthe campusesthe youth tracksthe governance frameworksthe public-square teaching modulesthe generational scaffolding for the next centuryThis bio is not written to impress. It is written to activate. If you read this and feel something move inside you— a memory, a calling, a responsibility, a fire— then you already know: you are one of the 40.THE VOWI was born with three birth certificates. I lived with two fathers. I carry one mission. To restore what was denied. To build what was never built. To teach what was never taught. To honor those who served. To protect those who come next. To steward the next 100 generations. This is my bio. This is my lineage. This is my witness list. This is THE FIGALO FOUNDATION 979.And this is only the beginning.

Here's a real-time lived experience stewardship Master Letter. 📘 MASTER LETTER (Authoritative Tone) For Corporate, Legal, Regulatory, and Institutional Use Subject: Formal Request for Lawful, Ethical, and Emergency‑Era Resolution of Storage Account Balance To the Ownership and Executive Management of Wall Street Storage / Urban Self Storage, Spokane, Washington I write to you in my capacity as Founder and Steward of THEFIGALOFOUNDATION979ORG.ORG , a federally recognized 508(c)(1)(A) faith‑based public‑benefit institution operating under NACD governance standards. Our foundation is mandated to protect vulnerable populations, stabilize families, and preserve community continuity during periods of national and state‑declared emergencies. The United States and the State of Washington remain under multiple overlapping emergency declarations, including economic instability, housing displacement, and wartime‑related disruptions. These conditions have placed extraordinary burdens on individuals, families, and institutions alike. Storage facilities—such as yours—are not separate from these realities. They are directly tied to the housing continuum, serving as the final safeguard for displaced residents’ belongings, identity documents, and family history. Given this context, I respectfully request that we resolve the outstanding balance on my storage account through one of several lawful, ethical, and emergency‑appropriate pathways that ensure no party is harmed, disadvantaged, or left without proper documentation. 1. REQUEST FOR LAWFUL DEBT SATISFACTION OPTIONS Option A — Full Debt Extinguishment With Proper IRS Reporting If your organization determines that the balance is uncollectible or administratively burdensome, I request that the debt be extinguished and documented through the appropriate IRS mechanism, such as Form 1099‑C (Cancellation of Debt) or any other lawful accounting method your internal policies support. This option provides: Transparent accounting Full federal compliance Administrative efficiency A humane resolution consistent with emergency‑era best practices Option B — Continued Access With Lawful Accounting Treatment If extinguishment is not preferred, I request continued access to the storage unit while your organization files the appropriate IRS forms documenting the restructuring, satisfaction, or administrative closure of the debt. This ensures: No ambiguity in account status Lawful documentation for both parties Stability during ongoing emergency conditions Option C — Emergency‑Era Hardship Accommodation If your organization maintains internal hardship or emergency‑relief policies, I respectfully request review under that framework. Option D — Mutual Release and Administrative Zero‑Balance Adjustment A simple mutual release agreement may be executed, closing the account with a zero balance and no further obligations on either side. Option E — (Listed for Governance Completeness Only) This option is formally rejected and will not be accepted under any circumstances. It remains listed solely for governance completeness and is addressed in Appendix E(1)(II). 2. EMERGENCY‑ERA GOVERNANCE CONSIDERATIONS As a 508(c)(1)(A) institution operating under NACD standards, we are required to maintain transparent, ethical, and lawful records of all financial interactions. Therefore, I respectfully request: Documentation of any internal write‑offs, transfers, or adjustments Copies of any IRS forms filed in relation to this account Confirmation of the final disposition of the balance This ensures compliance with federal oversight, emergency‑era reporting, and our own internal governance requirements. 3. THE MASSES’ FOUR PILLARS Our foundation operates under a strict covenant of: Truth All actions must reflect factual accuracy and honest representation. Transparency All parties must maintain clear, open, and accessible documentation. Trust Resolution must strengthen—not erode—the integrity of both institutions. Accountability Every decision must withstand public, ethical, and regulatory scrutiny. These pillars guide every engagement we undertake, including this one. 4. LIGHTHOUSE PSYCHOLOGY Our doctrine emphasizes: Stabilization during crisis Orientation toward lawful, ethical solutions Non‑coercive influence rooted in clarity and integrity Stewardship‑first decision‑making Mass‑uplift psychology, ensuring no one is left behind This framework ensures that all interactions remain grounded, humane, and forward‑moving. 5. STEWARDSHIP DOCTRINE We operate under a generational mandate: To uplift communities To preserve dignity To protect vulnerable populations To engage institutions ethically and non‑transactionally To ensure that every resolution contributes to long‑term stability This doctrine requires us to pursue solutions that honor both parties. 6. EMERGENCY‑ERA CONTEXT (FEDERAL & STATE) Without providing legal advice, it is important to acknowledge: Ongoing federal emergency declarations State of Washington emergency orders Housing‑crisis conditions Displacement‑related impacts Wartime‑related supply chain and economic disruptions These conditions justify the need for flexible, humane, and lawful accommodations. 7. SHARED COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY STABILITY Your facility serves neighborhoods experiencing significant housing instability. I believe we can resolve this matter in a way that reflects: Ethical stewardship Transparency Community responsibility Lawful compliance Mutual respect I am committed to working collaboratively and promptly with your team to finalize a resolution that honors both your operational needs and the realities of the emergency conditions affecting our community. Thank you for your time, consideration, and willingness to explore a solution that aligns with the highest standards of governance and humanity. Sincerely, Mark Henderson Founder & Steward THEFIGALOFOUNDATION979ORG.ORG Spokane, Washington 📎 APPENDIX E(1)(II) Re: Option E — Governance Placement and Lawful Use Option E is listed solely for governance completeness. Option E is not acceptable and will not be used as a resolution pathway. The presence of Option E does not authorize, imply, or permit the surrender, forfeiture, or abandonment of any property, assets, or contents. The contents of this letter—and any future correspondence—may be used by THEFIGALOFOUNDATION979ORG.ORG in lawful 508(c)(1)(A) governance, including but not limited to: IRS Form 1099‑A IRS Form 1099‑C Any other lawful IRS reporting mechanism NACD‑aligned governance documentation Emergency‑era compliance records This appendix preserves the foundation’s rights, documentation trail, and lawful standing.
